Volunteers of all ages brought shovels, gloves and plenty of energy to the Cedar Lake Park School Forest near East Cedar Lake Beach, continuing the hands-on work of caring for one of the city’s special natural spaces. The Cedar Lake Park School Forest is a living classroom in the heart of Minneapolis, where students, neighbors and visitors can explore native ecosystems and experience the value of spending time in nature. The School Forest grows out of the legacy of the Cedar Lake Park Association, whose decades of advocacy and stewardship helped preserve the natural lands surrounding Cedar Lake.
