One Small Check for You, One Giant Leap for Local News

Your neighborhood newspaper is growing, and it runs on reader support. Here’s how to fuel the mission.

7:36 PM CST on November 7, 2026

The neighborhood’s favorite giant pencil suited up for Halloween, and frankly, it has never looked more ready for liftoff.

We took it as a sign. A pencil this committed to the mission deserves a newspaper to match.

For 50 years, the Hill & Lake Press has gone “where the biggies leave off,” covering the stories right here in our neighborhoods. Now we’re boldly venturing where we haven’t been before. We’ve expanded our coverage, added pages and reached more readers, and we’re still growing.

But even a local icon can’t reach orbit without fuel, and neither can we. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we rely on generous contributions from readers like you. Your support is critical to keeping us running, and without it, we can’t deliver the news.
