Letters to the Editor

(Art by Wynne Colpitts, lives in Lowry Hill and attends The Waldorf School)

Our goal is to offer readers diverse perspectives on newsworthy events or issues of broad public concern to the Hill & Lake community. We hope you enjoy letters from Hill & Lake kids this month.

I know you by your
fuzzy fur and everlasting energy.
When I think of you
I think of a very fast fluffy,
bouncy ball
flying across the room that I
can never catch
no matter how fast I run.
Everyday after school when I
arrive home
you come running at me
at Mach 5.
Then I'm nudged and
being forced to pet you.
Remember all the times we
played together with the
minutes racing by.
You are the dog that has infinite
power until dusk. Then you have
no strength even if I ask you to
awaken.
You are the one that greets
me everyday.

(Poem by Arjun Khabranda (12), who lives in the Lowry Hill neighborhood and attends St. Paul Academy and Summit School)

(Poem by Ivy Ayes-Hanauer, who attends Edina Highlands Elementary School)
